Every year, the city of Saint-Tropez and the Société Nautique organize the mythical event "Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez".
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2025 will take place over a week from September the 27th until Saturday the 05th of October for all boats combined.
At the end of September 1981, an American couple who had a competition Swan lingered in Saint-Tropez after having competed in the Swan Cup in Porto Cervo. They took part in a few regattas at the SNST, ended up getting to know people and, one fine day, while the owner was talking about his successes in regattas, the 12 Meter Ikra entered the port. Someone then says: “And Ikra, do you think you could beat him?” Immediate response: "Why not, if Ikra accepts the challenge." I run straight away to see Jean Laurain, skipper of Ikra, who agrees to go out for a regatta the next day. This is how it all started, with a slightly crazy challenge between a Swan 44 and a 12 Meter JI!
